Making the first week simpler

Members aren't short of content. They get different first steps from different places, and they can't always tell where things live. This plan shows what we found, how often it comes up, and what we suggest changing.

247people told us they were confused or stuck in the last 60 days
1 in 4of those 404 messages asked where to start or what to do next
33%of new joiners from 1 Aug to 7 Oct left within 60 days (84 of 254). This includes card failures, so not all of it is confusion

What members are asking

We searched Eve chats, website chat, support emails, Facebook comments, and Skool posts, comments and DMs from 7 Sep to 6 Nov. Out of about 16,300 real messages, 404 showed confusion.

Some people asked about more than one topic. Messages by place: Eve 191, Skool comments 73, Skool DMs 49, Skool posts 46, website chat 35, support email 8, Facebook 1.

In their words

Feeling overwhelmed with all of the options…I'd like to do baby steps
I'm a premium member but don't understand where to access Eve. Is it an app?
where will the signals arrive? In Skool? Now I'm completely confused :)
I clicked on the link provided for my complimentary call but I do not see anything there except locked videos.

This isn't only new members

Of the confused messages to Eve, 64 came from members in their first 30 days, 70 from members at 1 to 12 months, and 55 from members over a year in. New members ask far more often for their numbers, but a clearer path helps everyone.

What's causing it, and the fix

We read everything a new member receives, in the order she receives it. Each piece makes sense alone. The confusion shows up when they sit side by side.

Four different first steps

100 messages · 81 people

The welcome says do the Starter Course. The pinned post says the onboarding call. The checklist's Day 1 lists the call, videos, an intro and Eve. The Day 1 DM says log into your broker.

Fix: three asks on day one, the same everywhere: open Start Here, get Eve, join Monday's call or watch the replay.

TradingView set-up is hidden

45 messages · 39 people

Chart set-up only appears under Scalping, so anyone following another style can miss it.

Fix: put one TradingView set-up lesson in Start Here, before the first demo trade.

Names and lessons don't line up

38 messages · 35 people

There is no "Starter Course": the course is "New Members- Start Here!". "Tuesday Beginners Call" is "Beginner Education Call" in the calendar. The checklist sits 8th of 9 items and is an image, which is hard to read on a phone. Start Here also holds an affiliate offer, a 61-minute talk and an indicator purchase.

Fix: call it Start Here everywhere, open with a plain-text lesson called "Your first 7 days", match call names to the calendar, and move the extras elsewhere.

Members can't find Eve

34 messages · 30 people

Only 49 of the 150 recent joiners who stayed have used her. Members ask if she's an app and where alerts arrive.

Fix, already under way: a one-tap Eve message is going to about 215 Premium members who haven't tried her. Anyone new who still hasn't opened Eve after about a week now gets one reminder DM.

Indicator questions keep coming

31 messages · 29 people

Members ask how access works and whether there's an app. It runs on TradingView, so there isn't one. We haven't reviewed these messages as closely as the others.

Fix: one short lesson on who has the indicator and how to set it up. We'll review the questions first so it answers the real ones.

Choosing a style comes too late

27 messages · 25 people

"How To Choose Your Trading Style" sits inside Scalping, after the Swing section.

Fix: make it an early lesson in Start Here.

The onboarding call is unclear

24 messages · 23 people

Emails say "book" it, but there's nothing to book. It's on the Day 1 list but runs on Mondays only, so she can wait up to 6 days. The replay isn't in the welcome. One member followed the call link and found only locked videos.

Fix: say "Join Monday's call", add the replay link, and check that call link first.

Premium has no clear starting point

18 messages · 18 people

The "Welcome Premium Members!" course is never mentioned in the welcome. This topic also covers billing questions, which we haven't reviewed.

Fix: add one line and one link for Premium members in the welcome.

Broker comes before demo

15 messages · 14 people

The checklist has a demo trade on Day 2 but broker research on Days 6 and 7, while the Day 1 DM says log into your broker. A beginner doesn't have one on Day 1.

Fix: demo first, broker later, once Amanda and Jenn agree the order.

Three plans compete

Not counted separately

The 7 Day Checklist, Eve's "Start my plan" and the personalised plan in the classroom all do a similar job, and the checklist never mentions "Start my plan".

Fix: choose one and point everything to it.

The simpler first week

A draft for Amanda and Jenn to shape. Each message asks for one thing.

When someone asks Eve "Where do I start?", she gives these same steps.

Who does what

Names are suggestions for the team to confirm. Christian approves all wording before it reaches members.

This week

Ops: Sam, Neha
  • Find and fix the call link that shows locked videos
  • Match call names to the calendar
  • Change "book" to "join"
  • Add the replay and a Premium line to the welcome

Next two weeks

Educators: Amanda, Jenn
  • Agree the teaching order
  • Reorder and trim Start Here
  • Turn the checklist into plain text
  • Write the TradingView and indicator lessons

Then

Christian, with Eve
  • Rewrite the Day 0 to Day 7 messages to match
  • Teach Eve the same steps
  • Start tracking the three numbers below

Three decisions we need

  1. Amanda and Jenn: are you happy with demo first and broker later, and with the order above?
  2. The team: which plan stays? We suggest "Start my plan", with the checklist's Day 6 and 7 rules folded in.
  3. The team: can the affiliate offer, long talks and indicator purchase move out of Start Here?

How we'll know it worked

Three numbers only: opened Eve by day 3, joined or watched the onboarding call, and posted a first demo trade. We have no attendance or course-progress data yet, so part of the job is working out how to measure the last two.

How far to trust this

This was a keyword search, so it misses people who didn't use those words and includes a few false matches. Facebook is under-counted because only 44 comments are stored. The early-leaver figure covers all reasons for leaving. Messages rose from 89 in September to 246 in October, but the price change and Eve's growth happened then too, so that isn't proof confusion grew.

Not yet checked: the videos themselves, the Premium course, the full pinned post, the Skool phone app, the sales page and the Men's Division.
